Our Farm
Seasonal. Sustainable. Small-Scale.
Welcome to Labatt Acres Farm! Small-scale and human-powered, our farm produces a variety of veggies grown on just a 1/4 acre as well as raw honey from our bees. We care deeply about responsible land stewardship and we farm without the use of any synthetic chemicals, focusing instead on regenerative growing methods. Farming in South Texas, our mild climate allows us to grow seasonal produce year-round. By choosing to support our local farm, you and your family will be getting produce and honey that is fresh, safe, and delicious.
Labatt Acres Farm is owned and operated by wife and husband team Ellie Pavliska and Cody Bates. Ellie manages our market garden and Cody is in charge of our honey bees. What started out as hobbies for both of us quickly grew into a vision of providing the healthiest food possible to those in our surrounding community. Our aim is to always be growing a wide variety of vegetables in healthy, living soil using no- and low-till practices. Our veggies are packed full of both nutrients and flavor — always in season and always fresh!
The land that is home to Labatt Acres Farm was purchased from Ellie’s family in October of 2020 and already came with a rich farming history. Located just northwest of Floresville, TX on what was once known as Labatt Road, the land sits on a hill of sandy loam — perfect for growing peanuts. The land in this area was used to grow peanuts by many of Ellie’s relatives for many years (the first Pavliska peanut seed was dropped by hand from a mule drawn planter in 1926) before eventually being converted into pasture for grazing. We take pride in knowing that a part of this land is being used to grow food once again.
